We are thrilled to announce that Mackenzie Thompson, a distinguished member of The Willow School Class of 2019, will return to campus this spring as our 2025 Graduation Keynote Speaker. Since graduating from Willow, Mackenzie has continued to lead with purpose. Now a student at Cornell University majoring in History with minors in Classics and Law & Society, she has already distinguished herself as a writer, thinker, and change-maker—earning the prestigious James E. Rice Prize for exceptional writing. Whether co-founding Reboot, a social media awareness initiative in partnership with Yale, or mentoring her peers at Cornell, Mackenzie embodies the values that define a Willow graduate.
Mackenzie shared, “I am honored to return to the Willow School to speak to the next generation of eighth grade graduates. I truly believe that Willow’s unique style of education and strong school community enabled me to succeed in both high school and college. I will forever cherish the memories of singing the “Tree Song” at Morning Gathering, building tree forts in the woods, and watching my friends perform in the annual talent show. I am so grateful for all of the values that Willow instilled in me, and I can’t wait to see the class of 2025 succeed!”
We look forward to welcoming Mackenzie back to Willow this June and hearing the wisdom she’ll share with the Class of 2025.
