We were delighted to welcome the Class of 2018 back to campus for their Time Capsule Reveal, a meaningful and first-of-its-kind event at Willow. Part of a longstanding Willow tradition, each graduating class thoughtfully curates a time capsule during the final week of their eighth grade year to reflect the individual voices and experiences of the class. Eight years later, these alumni are invited back to campus to unlock their capsule and reconnect with old friends and faculty.

Inside the capsule, alumni rediscovered letters they had written to their future selves, a copy of their collaborative eighth-grade graduation speech, a thumb drive containing their eighth-grade documentaries, and a yearbook capturing memories from that pivotal year.

During the evening, Assistant Head of School Meagan Coy invited the group to stand in a circle and read their letters quietly to themselves before taking turns sharing them aloud. The class also reenacted their eighth-grade graduation speech, and spent time answering questions and reflecting on their personal and professional growth since their days at Willow.

Laughter and nostalgia filled the room as they reminisced with “do you remember?” stories, shared fond memories of teachers, and reconnected with Wellness Teacher and Middle School Advisor Andy Pruzick, known to Willow students as ‘Mr. Andy,’ who made a welcome surprise appearance. With hugs and a genuine sense of reunion, our 2018 alumni extended the evening, celebrating together at a local spot off campus.
