Willow Winter Weekends

Get out of the house this winter for an enriching workshop with your child! Willow offers a variety of FREE hands-on experiences on Saturdays and Sundays until March 7. From STEM to yoga, French cooking, creative writing, and more, you’ll learn something new every week, have fun with your family, and get a taste of Willow’s innovative, experiential curriculum.

February 23

Babysitting 101 • 1-2:30pm: Join The Willow School nurses in this babysitting safety training program designed to focus on supervising, caring for, and keeping children and infants safe. The program will provide fundamental information in the business of babysitting, proper supervision, basic caregiving skills, and responding properly to ill or injured children or infants. Additionally, the program will discuss interviewing techniques as well as completion of your personal resume! Grades 5-8

FULL – French Cooking • 1-2:30pm (Grades 5-7)

Writing Workshop • 1-2:30pm: Writing gives us a voice in the world. It encourages us to be creative and use our imaginations. Experience the writing process under the guidance of Willow’s writing experts and unlock your writing superpowers! Students will brainstorm and collect story ideas, draft, revise and edit a piece, and share and collaborate with each other. Bring a pencil and a composition notebook! Grades 2-4

Musical Theatre Workshop • 1-2:30pm: Step out of your shell and into the spotlight in our Musical Theatre Workshop! Featuring singing, dancing and acting this high energy experience will introduce you to all elements of the stage. Annie’s Playhouse is the premier performing arts school in NJ. Grades K-7

March 7

Learn How to DJ • 10-11:30am: Learn DJ basics from two local DJs! Explore different DJ software and equipment set-ups, experiment with song transitions and effects, and practice mixing. Bring your laptop or phone to download and work with free DJ software on your own devices. Grades 4-7

Scrapbooking • 10-11:30am: Create a mini photo album out of paper bags! Make it yours with special decorations, stamps, hole punches, and more. Bring six to eight photos that reflect your interests, from friends to favorite hobbies, sports, pets, vacations…anything you like! You’ll leave with a keepsake full of memories and a new love for scrapbooking. Grades 4-7

FULL – STEM: Build a Boat that Floats • 10-11:30am (Grades K-3)
