Willow Winter Weekends
Get out of the house this winter and enjoy a fun workshop with your child at Willow! Starting on January 12, Willow will offer a variety of hands-on learning experiences on Saturdays and Sundays. From STEAM to theater, filmmaking, handcrafts, and more, you’ll learn something new every week, have fun with your family, and get a taste of Willow’s innovative, experiential curriculum. Rhythm Kids! | February 9, 11:15am-Noon
Grades K-2: Music Together of Chester comes to The Willow School! Join us for an exciting drumming, music, and movement activity that will explore multicultural rhythm patterns and include games based on music and drumming.
Valentine’s Day Handcrafts | February 9, 10am-Noon
Grades K-3: Join The Willow School Handcrafts teacher, Karen Hilde, for a Valentine-themed handcrafts project in our beautiful barn. Documentary Filmmaking | February 9, 10am-Noon
Grades 4-6: Wee Little Arts comes to Willow to show you how to make a short documentary film on your phone or tablet! Learn visual storytelling, cinematography, and editing techniques, along with various interview styles, to help you create high-quality video artwork. Required: Bring to class your iPhone, iPad, or any Smart Phone or Tablet that has a camera. Laptops are not required, but you will edit more efficiently if you can bring your laptop.

All About Me: Create a Mini-Album | February 17, 1-3pm
Grades K-3: Create a mini photo album out of paper bags! Make it yours with special decorations, stamps, hole punches, and more. Bring six to eight photos that reflect your interests, from friends to favorite hobbies, sports, pets, vacations…anything you like! Grades 4-6: Ooh la la! Join The Willow School’s own Madame Luborsky for a fun afternoon of cooking delicious French treats in our teaching kitchen!
Dog Lovers & Do-Gooders | March 2, 10am-Noon

STEAM Building Challenge | March 2, 10am-Noon
Grades 4-6: Join The Willow School’s third grade teacher, Alicia Zurlo, to follow the steps of the Engineering Design Process. Collaborate to build a structure within assigned parameters. Tackling this STEAM challenge provides a great opportunity to practice 21st century skills such as teamwork, creativity, critical thinking, and problem solving.
