Attend Our Spring Showcase!

Wednesday, May 22 • Beginning at 8:30 am

Our end-of-year learning celebrations are a great way to see Willow’s experiential curriculum first-hand and interact with students of all ages as they share what they’ve learned in creative, interdisciplinary, student-led projects. Come for one or all of these Spring Showcase events! Sign up here!

FRENCH & SPANISH — GRADE 2 • 8:30 AM

French and Spanish are two of the three world languages taught at Willow. See how our Grade 2 students progressed this year when they present a play about the marketplace in French and sing songs and share their knowledge of the days of the week, the calendar, and more in Spanish.

COMMUNITY IN THE WOODS — GRADE 1  • 9:00 AM

See a model town, Community in the Woods, built by first graders at Willow!

A learning tradition at Willow, first graders put their yearlong study of our local community into action when they build a model town on campus! Bring $5 or more; this is also a special service project, with proceeds from sales at the mock town’s library, market, and more going to Homeless Solutions in Morristown, NJ.

LATIN & WORLD LANGUAGES — GRADE 6  • 9:20 AM

Latin, the root of so many world languages, begins in Grade 6 at Willow. Sixth graders choose a Latin root word to study, look for derivatives in English, Spanish, and French. They will present creative projects that illustrate how the words are connected in sometimes unexpected ways!

ARCHAEOLOGICAL DIG  — GRADE 2 • 9:30 AM
Willow’s Grade 2 students have spent the entire year studying the past. The capstone of this interdisciplinary study is the end-of-year archaeological dig. Join our second graders as they grid, excavate, map, and interpret their findings at a plot on Willow’s campus according to scientific standards.

PHENOLOGY TOUR — GRADE 7 •  10 AM
Willow’s 34 acre campus is a natural learning laboratory. Join our 7th graders as they lead guests on a tour of native plant life on campus. Grade 7 students conducted a year-long study of life science that included biology field work, in-depth study of native plants, and a citizen science study of bird migration patterns and population.

MIDDLE SCHOOL FRENCH & SPANISH — GRADE 7 •  10:45 AM
Watch Willow’s seventh grade French students perform skits using their French knowledge. While you’re here, check out the project displays from sixth and eighth grade French students, too. Spanish students will demonstrate their knowledge of vocabulary by describing what we find inside of a house through skits, presentations, and displays.

SHAKESPEARE LIVE — GRADE 6 •  11:15 AM

Shakespeare and other classic literary works were the basis for numerous writing assignments over the course of the year. Willow’s Grade 6 students bring scenes from The Tempest to life, demonstrating their understanding of character, plot, and theme of this classic work.
