Willow in the Woods:
Join Our Summer Nature Camp
Registration for Willow in the Woods 2025 will open in February!
This summer, we will…
Build forts. Explore our stream and its inhabitants. Splash in mud puddles. Invent imaginative games. Make new friends. Plant and play in our school garden. Create amazing artwork and make music together. At The Willow School’s summer nature camp, joy and wonder guide every day as children in mixed-age groups organically choose between hands-on activities.
Campers will get to explore Willow’s campus, a natural learning laboratory situated on a beautiful 34-acres in the New Jersey countryside. Campers will spend their summer outside, discovering the beauty and interconnectivity of the natural world around them. Our dedicated faculty will ignite your children’s natural curiosity with activities and experiences that encourage them to ask questions, explore the natural world, and create. They will also participate in classic camp activity stations featuring arts and crafts, music, cooking, games, water play, and more.
Willow summer programs are led by Willow faculty and staff, with the assistance of alumni counselors and leaders-in-training. Please contact summer@willowschool.org with questions.

Seedlings: Rising Preschool (Age 3 & 4s*)
Preschoolers will enjoy fun-filled days of creative play, gardening, games, arts and crafts, story time, and lots of time outside with our preschool teachers and counselors. Our littlest campers develop their emerging social and communication skills and gain comfort and confidence in a classroom environment, too.
*campers must be fully potty trained
Saplings: Rising Kindergarten-Grade 5 (Age 4-10)
Students entering Grades K-5 in the fall will get to explore our incredible campus and engage in fun, outdoor activities such as gardening, outdoor games that emphasize sportsmanship and teamwork over competition, arts and crafts, making music, stream explorations, yoga and movement, campus hikes, and more! Children will lead the day, choosing from options for hands-on activities in mixed-age groups.
Leaders-in-Training: Rising Grade 6-8 (Ages 11-13)
Middle schoolers will have the opportunity to be Leaders-In-Training, acting as group leaders while participating in all of the fun outdoor activities for the K-5 campers. This program helps middle schoolers become more familiar with leadership roles at camp and develop the skills necessary to become our future counselors, all while having tons of summer fun!
Camp Add-Ons
When you register, you will also be given the option to sign up for Extended Day from 1:00-3:00 pm for an additional fee. Campers participating in Extended Day will enjoy relaxed time to play, read, draw, and enjoy each other’s company.
