Substitute Teacher

The Willow School, an independent preschool through grade eight school in Gladstone, NJ, seeks educators to serve as daily substitute teachers. We are seeking candidates to substitute all subjects and grades, preschool- Grade 8. The appropriate candidates will join a highly dedicated team of educators. The ideal candidates will not only be talented elementary and middle school teachers but will be a solid fit for The Willow School’s mission and community. This position is available immediately and we are seeking multiple candidates.

The ideal candidate will:

● Substitute for teachers and teaching assistants
● Lead and reinforce lessons developed by the head teacher by reviewing materials with students
● Support the campus by performing tasks including but not limited to recess/lunch/dismissal duties, enforcing classroom/school rules
● Perform light classroom maintenance
● Assist with record-keeping, such as taking attendance
● Demonstrate outstanding teamwork and collaboration with all members of the Willow faculty
● Demonstrate outstanding communication skills with parents, students, and colleagues

Marketing Internship

Join The Willow School’s Marketing & Communications team! Build your resume working with a mission-driven nonprofit as you hone your communication skills. The ideal candidate will be creative, energetic, and devoted to telling a good story. They will be interested in a career in marketing or communications, possess excellent writing, communication, and photo/video skills, and be up on the latest social media marketing trends.

At Willow, we believe in student-directed learning, so it should come as no surprise that you will have the ability to craft the experience you want from this internship. We are looking for someone interested in brainstorming campaigns and leading projects that you design, working closely with Willow’s Director of Marketing & Communications to primarily take and edit photos and videos on campus, design social media campaigns, write and publish blogs on the school’s website, edit web pages, and craft regular e-newsletters. You will have the opportunity to grow your skills and workshop your ideas in close consultation with the Director. Get hands-on experience with tangible outcomes that you can add to your portfolio!

Responsibilities:

  • Take, edit, and caption photos and videos on campus for social media
  • Assist with writing, designing, and sending e-newsletters. 
  • Assist with regular social media postings.
  • Help brainstorm, research, and write blogs for the school website.

Some work can be done remotely, but the ideal candidate would be available to work on-site at least two days a week. The internship can be for a semester or full year. The start date for this position is flexible; we are looking for someone who can ideally start in either July or September 2024.

Alumni Coordinator

Calling all Willow alumni! Willow is seeking an Alumni Coordinator to keep our graduates connected with each other and our beloved school community. Bring your communication and event planning skills to this fun opportunity! Willow’s Alumni Society is run by alumni, for alumni. We need your vision and excitement! 

Responsibilities include: 

  • Crafting monthly newsletters to alumni and alumni parents
  • Assisting with all communications to alumni families regarding school happenings, fundraisers, and events
  • Managing the Willow alumni social media
  • Organizing alumni-specific events
  • Coordinating alumni fundraising
  • Updating our contact database

This position comes with a monthly stipend. The coordinator works directly with Willow’s administrative team to define goals, propose projects, and hone communications. This position can be done remotely; the ideal candidate will be able to attend occasional in-person alumni events. Interested?
